Marriage License Info for San Diego County
Visit this link for what you need to know and what documents to bring with you before you apply for a San Diego County marriage license. It is recommended to get this legal aspect of your wedding out of the way about a month before your ceremony date.
Once you have your Marriage License, you can put your energies into the other
last minute things that seem to pop up.
As your Wedding Officiant, I take the completed Marriage Licence to the County Recorders office in person.
That way they confirm that it is all good and record it. I then follow up with the couple so that
they know they can request copies in a couple of weeks.
Applying for Your Marriage License, Things to Keep in Mind
There are now only 3 San Diego County offices that issue Marriage Licenses and they are by appointment only.
Please be sure to call ahead of time as the appointments fill up quickly - (3 weeks ahead minimum).

Costs:
$70.00 for a Public Marriage License valid for 90 days any where in California.
$89.00 for a Confidential License valid for 90 days, ceremony must be in San Diego County.
Here is a tip:
If you have access to a computer and the internet, visit the Sand Diego County Recorder website.
Print out 2 copies of the license you require, public or confidential. Be sure you print the correct version and complete it.
The reason for the second copy is just in case you make a mistake, no erasers or white out are allowed. This will certainly help to
expedite things when you arrive for you appointment. Please take a look at the county website as it will answer many of the questions
